Discussion: Does Genre Choice Matter in the Long Term?

Reminder that the 2nd Annual Book Blogger Awards are going on right now!!!!! If you haven’t placed your nominations yet, head over to the rules page and vote! This is our chance to nominate all of your favorite book bloggers and give them the recognition that they deserve (plus, getting nominated might just make someone’s day). Nominations close at the end of the month.

so i had a lot of trouble formulating the title for this blog post, and i guess that’s probably because i’m super unsure of what i’m actually trying to say. i’ve been spending a while brainstorming good discussion posts, because i know i haven’t posted one in a long time, and now i have something that i want to write about, but i can’t figure out how to go about it. so hopefully by the time you read it, this post will have been edited 4 times (update: it took 7) and sound semi-coherent, but i thought it was relevant information that i’m having trouble writing this.

The 4 Best Reading Spots on My College Campus

Reminder that the 2nd Annual Book Blogger Awards are going on right now!!!!! If you haven’t placed your nominations yet, head over to the rules page and vote! Before this year, I never considered where I was reading.  I mean, it didn’t really seem to matter that much. Whenever I had a spare moment, whether it was in the car, in my room, or out at the mall, I could just pull out my kindle/book/phone, and start reading. I actually remember reading a post on “places to read” (I can’t remember who wrote it, so sorry for the lack of credit if this was you) a couple of years ago and my instant reaction was “why do you need a place to read? can’t reading happen everywhere”?

Which is why it’s somewhat ironic that I’m writing this post today.

The 2nd Annual Book Blogger Awards: Rules and Categories

Hey everyone!! For those of you that don’t remember, last year I decided to start The Book Blogger Awards, which are exactly what it sounds like– blogger awards exclusively for book bloggers.  I was honestly so humbled and amazed by what a big response I got last year (see the winners here) and so I decided to continue the tradition and host the 2nd Annual Awards!!

I can’t wait to see who you all nominate, and find tons of new book bloggers to add to my reading list 🙂 Just read the rules below and get started!

Wrap-Up: January // Not Stellar But Hanging in There

It’s February! (yes it has been for over a week, and this post is super late, but let’s ignore that please and move on)

I’m sure y’all know this, but January was a little rough for me. It should have been my 2nd month back from hiatus but instead it turned into unplanned mini hiatus, which is… not so great. I think I bounced back strong at the end though (aka posted roughly twice) and it was a good month for reading, so overall, could have been much worse.

Intro to 2018 // Goals, Predictions, and More

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! It feels bizarre that the year is 2018… I mean, I still sometimes think it’s 2008, the fact that it has been 10 years since then is just weird.  But anyways, I can’t wait for this year, and have already been working on some resolutions/goals, and a TBR to share with you all.

End of the Year Extravaganza Part I // My Favorite Books of 2017

IT’S OFFICIALLY DECEMBER! AND NOT EVEN THAT, BUT LIKE HALFWAY THROUGH.  That means it’s time for Christmas season and end-of-the-year fun and I can’t wait.  That’s why from here on in, I’m going to be posting 3x a week (monday wednesday and friday) so that I can fit in all the fun wrap up posts that I want to do.  Plus, it seems like a great way to celebrate the end of a really great year!!

For Part I of my end of the year extravaganza, I’m going to be talking about my favorite books (because, well, this is a book blog and if I for some reason fall off the face of the earth tomorrow at least we’ll have this).  It’s going to be super tough for me to do, since I read SO MANY GREAT BOOKS THIS YEAR but here we go!

The Liebster Award #2 // Answering Tough Questions

A few months ago, I did this exact award, but because it’s all about answering people’s questions and telling fun facts about yourself, I decided to do it again!!

This time, I was nominated by the lovely Shayna, who posts tons of great works of writing over on her blog Hail Angelic Creation.  If you enjoy reading poetry or short stories, you should totally go check her blog out!

My Tragic Fear of Libraries

okay.

I know.

It’s weird.

and probably not #relatable

but I’m terrified of the library.

Like, I won’t go alone and I’d rather not go at all.  I realize that makes me sound super privileged and awful, but there’s a good reason, so bare with me.

Opinion: The Goodreads Choice Awards

Tis the holiday season… and that means AWARDS SEASON!!!

In the coming months, there will be soooo many big end of year blogger and book awards coming out for us to vote in, the biggest of which is open now: THE GOODREADS CHOICE AWARDS!!

I personally love book awards and voting and stuff (not really sure why tbh) and so I decided to talk about how excited I was and also all of the things I think could be better about them…

At my time of writing this post, it’s the semifinal round (which is obviously closed soon) so I’ll just base all of my opinions off of that
